Earthquake of Magnitude 5 Strikes Kyrgyzstan's Naryn Region Overnight

An earthquake with a magnitude of 5 jolted the Naryn region of Kyrgyzstan during the night, according to the Institute of Seismology of the National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic. The tremor occurred at 02:40 local time.

The epicenter of the earthquake was situated about 5 kilometers from the village of Ottuk and 31 kilometers from the city of Naryn. The intensity of the quake varied across different settlements. In villages like Ottuk and Kazan-Kuygan, the intensity was around 5 points. In villages such as Jerge-Tal, Kyzyl-Zhyldyz, Echki-Bashy, and Emgekchil, the intensity was 4 points.

Residents in several other villages, including Kuybysheva, Shoro, Vosmoye Marta, Ak-Talaa, Dostuk, Dzhan-Bulak, Min-Bulak, Dzhalggyz-Terek, Orto-Saz, Ak-Kyyya, Orto-Nura, and Kenesh, as well as in the city of Naryn, experienced an intensity of 3 points.

As of the latest reports, state authorities have not received any information regarding potential casualties or damage to buildings resulting from the earthquake. Emergency services are monitoring the situation.
