East Kalimantan governor responds after province wins two public-service awards

East Kalimantan Governor Rudi Mas'ud said the province's work had paid off after it received two top awards in the regional Kalimantan category of the Pemda Berprestasi program.

Thank God, East Kalimantan received the two top rankings at the provincial regional level across Kalimantan, in education and health

East Kalimantan ranked first for access to and the quality of health services, as well as for residents' access to education. Rudi said the recognition covered two areas, education and health.

He pointed to the province's free education program, which covers study from undergraduate through doctoral level. Eligible families only need to register their children, provided they have lived in East Kalimantan for at least three years, he said.

All of it is covered by the East Kalimantan provincial government. You only need to register the children, but their domicile must have been in East Kalimantan for at least three years

Rudi said he was surprised that the program was linked to minimum service standards, which include education, health, sanitation and housing. He added that the province would not stop with the awards and would prepare an environmental program for 2027 under Indonesia ASRI, meaning safe, healthy, orderly and beautiful.
