Ebola: Tinubu approves ₦10bn for emergency, establishes task force

President Bola Tinubu has authorized the release of ₦10 billion as emergency intervention funding to enhance Nigeria's preparedness for the Ebola virus and other emerging public health threats. This significant financial allocation is intended to bolster the operational readiness of the National Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (NCDC).

In conjunction with the funding, President Tinubu has also approved the establishment of a Presidential Task Force. This dedicated task force will focus on Ebola Virus Disease Preparedness and Emerging Public Health Threats, signaling a proactive approach to potential health crises.

The initiative aims to strengthen the NCDC's capacity to respond effectively to public health emergencies, ensuring that the country is better equipped to manage and mitigate the impact of diseases like Ebola.
