ECG announces planned power outages for Wednesday, June 10

The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has scheduled multiple power outages across various regions for Wednesday, June 10, 2026. These disruptions are attributed to a combination of planned maintenance exercises and a transformer fault, which will affect supply in the Ashanti, Tema, Accra East, Accra West, Volta, and Western Regions.

In the Ashanti Region, three separate maintenance activities are planned. One will run from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, impacting Tikrom, Besease, Boankra, Kubease, Bonfa Junction, Bonfa Township, Asiwa, and surrounding areas. A second exercise is scheduled from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, affecting Apaa and Kyekyewere. A third maintenance operation will occur from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM in the Western Region, impacting Akoon, UEE, parts of Market Circle, Railway Quarters, Apinto Hospital, Cyanide, Kwabedu, Alhaji Dauda, New Atuabo, Budo City, Banso, Esuosu, and nearby communities.

The Tema Region will experience outages from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, affecting numerous areas including the Sea Water Desalination Plant, Maranatha, Buade, Glow Lamp, Frimpongmaa Estates, Abrantie, Dan Adams, Coastal Estates, Basket, GCB Training School, Ataa Adama, Royal Ravico, Junction Mall, Regimanuel Estates, Parakuo Estates, Queensland International School, Kpoo Keke, Best Western Premier Hotel, Leisure Hours Hotel, and extensive parts of Nungua. The Kpeshie Divisional Police Headquarters, Coco Beach, Main 1, Father's Hotel, C5, and surrounding areas will also be impacted.

Accra East Region has two planned maintenance schedules: one from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM affecting Dome Pillar 2, Dome Auntie Mary, East Airport International School, and surrounding areas; the second from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM impacting Doblo, Satellite, Sapeiman, Medie, Kotoku, Pobiman, Blue Skies, Hebron, Ahodwo, Fotobi, Pakrom, Obudan, and Kwasikrom. In the Accra West Region, maintenance from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM will affect Kwasi Tenten, Asuaba, Anoff, Adeiso, Maame Dede, Coaltar, Dorkrochiwa, Danso, Ofankor Attah Mills, Ofankor Market, Government Hospital, Township, Omanjor, New Bortianor, and Red Top. Additionally, a transformer fault has caused outages in Dansoman St Anthony's, Bolla Junction, Della, Amasaman Education Service, Railways, and Pokuase Adusah Quarters, with engineers working to resolve it.

The Volta Region will see planned maintenance from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, affecting Sovie, Vakpo, Anfoegea, Wusuta, Aveme, Sabadu, Bume, Tsrekpe Botoku, and surrounding areas. ECG has apologized for any inconvenience these necessary exercises may cause to its customers.
