EcoPro Imports Key Equipment for Indonesian Nickel Smelter

EcoPro has marked a significant milestone in its Indonesian operations with the arrival of crucial equipment for its nickel smelter. The company announced on July 23 that a reactor was delivered to the BNSI smelter construction site in Indonesia on July 22.

This reactor is a core piece of equipment designed to separate nickel and cobalt from nickel ore and sulfuric acid under high-temperature and high-pressure conditions. The BNSI smelter is projected to have an annual production capacity of 90,000 tons of nickel.

To achieve this output, three reactors, each capable of processing 30,000 tons, are being installed at the facility. Currently, two of these reactors are in place, signifying substantial progress in the construction phase.

The development is part of EcoPro's broader strategy to expand its global presence and secure a stable supply chain for critical battery materials. Indonesia, rich in nickel reserves, is a key location for the company's international expansion efforts in the electric vehicle battery sector.
