Ecuador launches DATA593 app to simplify public services and access to documents

Ecuador’s government has launched DATA593, a digital platform designed to put services from more than 10 public institutions within reach through a single application.

José Julio Neira, secretary of the Public Administration, announced the platform on the night of Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2026. He said DATA593 would bring public institutions “one tap away” in a service that is easy, fast and secure.

DATA593 puts more than 10 public institutions one tap away, in an easy, fast and secure way.

The application is available for iOS and Android devices, as well as computers. Users can manage official certificates and digital identity documents from a mobile device, with the government saying they have full legal validity. The platform also provides interoperable official certificates with QR verification codes, along with services related to mobility, health, payments and personal documents.

The government presents the system as a way to complete procedures without queues and from any location. “Ecuador’s digital transformation is already under way. We are connecting institutions, simplifying processes and bringing the state closer to you,” Neira said.

From now on, Ecuadorians will not waste any more time. We will find all our documents in one place.

The first phase integrates information from the Internal Revenue Service, Ecuadorian Social Security Institute, Civil Registry, National Institute of Statistics and Census, National Transit Agency, Ministry of Labor and Human Development, Ministry of Economic and Productive Development, Ministry of Public Health, and Ministry of Education, Sport and Culture.

Neira said the government would progressively add further documents, certificates and services to DATA593.
