Ecuador Weather: Heat and Rain Forecast for August 28, 2026

Ecuadorians can expect a varied weather day on Friday, August 28, 2026, according to the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology (Inamhi). The forecast predicts a mix of conditions across the country's distinct regions: the Coast, Highlands, Amazon, and Galapagos.

The coastal region, known as the Litoral, will experience a combination of sunshine, cloud cover, and rain, depending on the specific location and time of day. Inamhi has issued an active temperature advisory for this area. Guayaquil and Santa Rosa are forecast to have the highest temperatures, reaching up to 33 degrees Celsius, with lows around 24-24.5 degrees. Quevedo will see a high of 32.5 degrees, Esmeraldas up to 31.5 degrees, and Manta also reaching 31.5 degrees. Quito's maximum temperature will be 24.5 degrees with a low of 10 degrees. Ibarra will reach 25 degrees, Tulcán between 9 and 16 degrees, Ambato a high of 23 degrees, and Cuenca a high of 23 degrees. Latacunga is expected to record the lowest minimum temperature in the Sierra, dropping to 3 degrees, with a high of 19 degrees.

The Amazon region, or Amazonía, will largely experience periods of sun and clouds. An active temperature advisory is also in effect for this region. El Coca is predicted to have the highest temperature in the Amazon, reaching 33.5 degrees Celsius, with a low of 22.5 degrees. Nueva Loja will see a high of 31.5 degrees, and Tena will range between 21 and 31 degrees.
