Ecuador weather: Quito and Guayaquil forecast for August 6, 2026

Ecuador's National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology (Inamhi) has issued its weather forecast for Thursday, August 6, 2026, predicting distinct conditions across Quito, Guayaquil, and other regions.

In the capital, Quito, maximum temperatures are expected to range between 23 and 26 degrees Celsius. The day will begin with clear skies, transitioning to partly cloudy conditions in the afternoon. The evening is forecast to be cloudy with clear spells, and the early hours of Friday will see partly cloudy skies. Minimum temperatures in Quito will hover between 5 and 9 degrees Celsius. Other areas in Pichincha province will experience varying highs, with Puerto Quito and the northwest reaching 29-31 degrees, Pedro Moncayo 22-24 degrees, Rumiñahui 23-25 degrees, and Mejía 19-21 degrees.

Guayaquil is set for a warmer day, with maximum temperatures reaching 33 degrees Celsius between 7:00 AM and 7:00 PM. The coastal city will experience partly cloudy skies throughout the morning and afternoon. By Thursday night, the minimum temperature is predicted to be 24 degrees Celsius. Conditions will be partly cloudy, with clear spells and a chance of isolated drizzle expected during the early hours of Friday.

Both major cities will face significant ultraviolet radiation. Quito is bracing for extremely high UV levels, while Guayaquil will experience high levels. National maps show UV indices ranging from 6 to 12. The Inamhi strongly advises against prolonged sun exposure between 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM in areas with very high or extremely high UV readings. In the Litoral region, coastal cities like Esmeraldas, Santo Domingo, Quevedo, Manta, Salinas, and Santa Rosa will see temperatures between 23 and 31.5 degrees Celsius, with some areas like Santo Domingo expecting rain or drizzle.
