Users can now edit PDF files directly within WhatsApp, thanks to a new integration with Adobe Acrobat. This collaboration aims to streamline workflows by allowing users to read and modify documents without leaving the messaging application.

The new feature, which is gradually rolling out to users, transforms WhatsApp into a more comprehensive tool for document management. Available on WhatsApp Web and Desktop versions, it enables users to perform various editing tasks. These include viewing documents in full screen, highlighting text, adding comments, and applying other annotations.

Beyond basic markups, the integrated editor allows users to reorder pages, insert pages from other documents, extract specific pages into new PDFs, and split existing documents. Users can also rotate or delete pages and enhance text formatting, although adding images is not mentioned as a standard function.

While the core editing functionalities are available for free, Adobe Acrobat offers exclusive advanced tools that require a paid subscription. Importantly, this PDF editor is currently limited to the web and desktop platforms, with no official timeline provided for its release on mobile devices. Users can initiate the editing process by selecting a PDF in WhatsApp Web or Desktop, choosing 'Edit PDF,' and then 'Edit in Acrobat' to make their desired changes.
