Edmonton police contine to search for answers in death of 16-year-old girl

Homicide investigators returned to Park Hill Condominiums on Monday, searching for answers in the suspicious death of a 16-year-old girl. The incident occurred Sunday morning in the Hairsine neighborhood.

Neighbors reported hearing two loud shots around 7 a.m., followed by a teenage girl screaming and crying. One neighbor, who called 911, requested anonymity due to safety concerns. Police performed first aid upon arrival, but paramedics pronounced the victim dead at the scene.

There have been a number of people coming and going since then and that police had attended the home recently.

The victim, who did not live at the residence, was visiting a friend who had recently moved into the building with her mother. Neighbors noted a consistent flow of people coming and going from the unit and mentioned that police had attended the home previously. The presence of investigators at the condominium complex has left local residents shaken, with some taking extra security measures like triple-checking locks and considering security cameras.
