Egypt reaffirms support for Sudan’s unity, sovereignty

Egypt has reiterated its firm commitment to Sudan's unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity. Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty conveyed this support during a phone call with his Sudanese counterpart, Mohi al-Din Salem.

The Egyptian minister highlighted the principle of Sudanese ownership of the political process. He stressed supporting efforts to restore stability and end the conflict, aiming for a political settlement that upholds Sudan's sovereignty and meets its people's aspirations for security and development.

Egypt also affirmed its willingness, along with Egyptian companies, to participate in Sudan's reconstruction once peace is restored. Sudan's Foreign Minister Salem expressed gratitude for Egypt's support, particularly its consistent stance on Sudan's unity and stability. He briefed Abdelatty on the Sudanese government's efforts to address current challenges and stressed the importance of continued close consultation with Egypt.
