Egypt's Al-Mabara Heart Academy accredited as regional training center

The Al-Mabara Heart Academy, part of Egypt's Therapeutic Institution, has earned a significant international distinction, becoming the first accredited regional training center in cardiovascular imaging in Egypt and Africa. The European Association of Cardiovascular Imaging (EACVI) granted the accreditation, placing the academy among an elite global network of just 100 centers.

This achievement marks a major milestone for Egypt's healthcare sector. Ministry spokesperson Hossam Abdel Ghaffar emphasized that the accreditation underscores the Therapeutic Institution's dedication to medical and educational advancement. The academy will now provide training utilizing advanced cardiovascular imaging technologies and adhering to the highest European standards, aiming to enhance the diagnostic capabilities for cardiovascular diseases across the region.

The accreditation marks a major milestone, making Al-Mabara Heart Academy the first accredited center in Egypt and Africa, and the fourth in the Middle East, joining a global network of only 100 accredited centers worldwide.

The success was attributed to strategic collaborations, notably with the Commercial International Bank (CIB), which provided crucial support for the academy's infrastructure and technical resources. Mohamed Shaqwir, Chairman of the Therapeutic Institution, highlighted this as a national triumph, reflecting Egypt's drive to align its healthcare practices with global standards. He stressed the importance of building the expertise of local doctors and researchers and bolstering Egypt's standing in international cardiology.

Al-Mabara Heart Academy is now positioned as a model of Egyptian medical expertise. By integrating advanced clinical skills, internationally recognized training programs, and modern technology, it aims to deliver exceptional training and diagnostic services on both regional and global scales. This development is expected to significantly strengthen healthcare capabilities and contribute to the early and accurate diagnosis of heart conditions.
