Egypt, Switzerland discuss bilateral ties and regional developments

Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty engaged in a phone call with Swiss Foreign Minister Ignazio Cassis to discuss strengthening bilateral relations and various regional matters of mutual concern. Abdelatty lauded the continuous progress in Egyptian-Swiss relations, noting over 90 years of diplomatic ties, and expressed eagerness to enhance cooperation across political, economic, and trade sectors.

Regarding the situation in Sudan, Abdelatty reiterated the importance of preserving Sudan's unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity. He emphasized support for its national institutions and rejected any attempts to establish parallel entities. Furthermore, he stressed the need for an inclusive, Sudanese-owned political process to resolve the conflict, advocating for a humanitarian truce that could lead to a sustainable ceasefire. This would ensure the delivery of aid and alleviate the suffering of the Sudanese people.
