Eid-ul-Mawlid: Edo deputy gov urges Muslims to embrace peace, unity

Edo State Deputy Governor, Dennis Idahosa, has called on Muslim faithful to embody the spirit of peace, unity, and compassion as they celebrate Eid-ul-Mawlid, marking the birth of Prophet Muhammad. Felicitating with the Muslim community, Idahosa urged them to use the occasion as an opportunity for deep reflection on the exemplary life and teachings of the Prophet.

Idahosa specifically highlighted the Prophet's virtues of peace, compassion, humility, tolerance, and profound love for humanity. He stressed the importance of upholding these values in daily life, advocating for strengthened bonds of brotherhood and the promotion of peaceful coexistence among all people within Edo State and Nigeria.

This sacred occasion offers us an opportunity to reflect on the exemplary life and teachings of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAW), particularly his virtues of peace, compassion, humility, tolerance and love for humanity.

The Deputy Governor also encouraged the Muslim faithful to offer prayers for the continued peace, unity, and prosperity of both Edo State and the nation at large. He emphasized the significance of extending kindness and support to the less privileged within their communities, aligning with the charitable spirit of the Eid celebration.
