A 14-year-old boy killed eight people in a mass shooting in Thailand before turning the gun on himself. The tragedy began at dawn when the teenager fatally shot his grandparents at their home on the outskirts of Bangkok. Police confirmed the firearm used belonged to the grandfather.

Emergency services arrived at the school to find a chaotic scene with students suffering wounds to their backs, chests, and arms. Students described fleeing the building in their socks. Police located the gunman on the fourth floor, where he had already shot himself. He was rushed to the hospital but died shortly after.

The Prime Minister stated he would propose new laws to restrict the public carrying of firearms.
