Eight Injured, Including Three Children, in Smederevo Area Car Crash

A serious traffic accident on the bypass near the village of Petrijevo, close to Smederevo, Serbia, resulted in injuries to eight individuals, including three children. The collision involved two passenger vehicles.

The incident took place around midday when a Volkswagen Passat, reportedly executing a U-turn, was hit by an oncoming Opel Zafira. The impact caused injuries to all occupants of both vehicles.

Authorities have detained the driver of the Passat, who faces criminal charges for endangering public transport. The injured parties sustained minor physical injuries. However, the three children who were in the Opel Zafira have been transported to Belgrade for more comprehensive diagnostic evaluations.

The Police Administration of Smederevo confirmed the details of the accident. The investigation into the precise cause and circumstances of the collision is ongoing.
