Ekiti 2026: APC unveils Akpabio-Sani-led campaign council

The All Progressives Congress (APC) is set to formally launch its National Campaign Council for the upcoming Ekiti State governorship election on Wednesday. The inauguration ceremony will take place in Abuja, bringing together key figures within the ruling party to spearhead mobilization efforts.

Senate President Godswill Akpabio will serve as co-chairman, with Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani as the chairman. The council's secretary is Senate Leader Michael Opeyemi Bamidele. According to the APC's National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, the council is composed of serving and former governors, principal officers of the National Assembly, and other senior party leaders. Their mandate is to coordinate and drive the party's campaign activities across the state.

The APC views this inauguration as a crucial milestone in its preparations for the governorship contest and a vital step toward intensifying grassroots engagement.
