El Niño offers no sign that Malaysia’s haze will ease soon

Malaysia’s haze is not expected to clear soon, with dry weather and the ongoing El Niño phenomenon weighing on conditions in several areas.

Professor Dr. Juliana Jalaludin, an environmental health expert, said the outlook depends on meteorological factors. So far, however, she said there are no signs that the haze will improve in the near term.
