El-Rufai’s son celebrates parents’ 27th wedding anniversary

Mohammed El-Rufai, a lawmaker representing Kaduna North Federal Constituency, has honored his parents, former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai and Asia, on their 27th wedding anniversary. In a Facebook statement, Mohammed described his mother as the family's "glue," commending her compassion, intellect, and support for vulnerable individuals.

Every good thing we continue to do for Kaduna North is due to the teachings and knowledge she has imparted in me since I was 11 years old. Every bad thing is my fault.

He recalled his mother's influence on his upbringing and values, noting her role as an "avid reader" and "brilliant lawyer." He emphasized her dedication to assisting widows and orphans during his father's time as governor, stating that her teachings have guided his efforts in representing Kaduna North. "Every good thing we continue to do for Kaduna North is due to the teachings and knowledge she has imparted in me," he remarked.

The lawmaker also reflected on his parents' enduring marriage, citing his mother's consistent support for his father through various life stages. He mentioned her strength and presence as a source of comfort, particularly during his father's recent "illegal detention." The anniversary, he said, is an occasion to appreciate their shared journey, memories, and the positive impact they have had on many lives.
