Elderly Woman Seriously Injured After Sidewalk Fall While Avoiding Car; Witnesses Sought

An elderly woman suffered serious injuries in St. Ingbert, Germany, after falling on a sidewalk while attempting to avoid a reversing vehicle. The 87-year-old pedestrian was reportedly using a walker when she fell while trying to prevent a collision with the car.

The incident occurred as the driver of the vehicle was backing up. The woman, maneuvering with her walker, fell as she tried to get out of the car's path. Following the fall, the driver of the car reportedly stopped to check on the injured woman.

However, the driver then left the scene without providing further assistance or information, an act considered a hit-and-run offense. The injured senior citizen was subsequently transported to a local hospital for medical treatment. Authorities have confirmed she sustained severe injuries.
