The surge in election campaigning and political commentary on broadcast media has led to a corresponding rise in complaints lodged with the committee, questioning the appropriateness of various reports.

In a recent session, the committee addressed a complaint against JTBC's 'Behind News' program, which was accused of mocking and satirizing the leader of the People Power Party. However, a majority of the committee members found no issues with the report, arguing that it did not target the leader personally but rather the party, and fell within the bounds of free expression.

Another case involved JTBC's 'Newsroom' reporting on a political figure, which was also largely cleared. A report by MBN on a mayoral candidate's interactions with market vendors, however, drew criticism, with the committee recommending improvements due to the use of potentially inflammatory language.
