Elections Committee, Employment Service announce effort to hire thousands of election personnel

In preparation for the upcoming elections scheduled for October 27, Israel's Central Elections Committee and the Employment Service have announced a collaborative effort to recruit thousands of individuals for election-related positions. This joint initiative aims to ensure the smooth execution of the electoral process by staffing various essential roles.

Hiring for positions such as polling site staff, technical support workers, and logistics personnel will commence within the next week. The organizations have stated a commitment to hiring individuals who represent the full spectrum of Israeli society. Particular attention will be given to employing people with disabilities, those displaced from their homes due to the ongoing conflicts with Iran and Hezbollah, and individuals who sustained injuries during these wars.

A key aspect of this recruitment drive will be the establishment of a jointly managed site dedicated to facilitating the hiring and recruitment process. Both the Elections Committee and the Employment Service will contribute their expertise and resources to this endeavor.

Attorney Din Livne, Acting Director General of the Central Elections Committee, stressed the critical importance of having professional and capable staff at every polling station. "We are already working to ensure that every polling station is staffed with professional, skilled, and capable personnel, so that every citizen can exercise their right to vote in a proper, accessible, and reliable manner," Livne stated. Inbal Mashash, Director General of the Employment Service, highlighted the initiative's role in providing employment opportunities, noting, "A strong labor market and a sound democratic process both rely on broad participation from all parts of society."
