Eleven Dead, 19 Injured as Israel's Renewed Attacks Force Hundreds to Flee Southern Lebanon

Hundreds of families have fled southern Lebanon for the north following a significant escalation in Israeli airstrikes, which killed at least 11 people and injured 19. The United Nations reported these attacks as among the deadliest since late June.

The UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR) for Lebanon stated on social media that families packed their belongings and headed north in search of safety. Many had already been displaced previously, and the current uncertainty has forced them to leave their homes once again.

"The protection and humanitarian assistance remain fundamental," the UNHCR noted in a preliminary assessment of the displacement caused by the day's attacks. The agency emphasized the ongoing need for support for those forced to flee their homes.

The renewed intensity of the strikes has created a dire humanitarian situation in the region, exacerbating the suffering of civilians already caught in the crossfire. The displacement underscores the severe impact of the ongoing conflict on the civilian population in southern Lebanon.
