Elnusa Petrofin Begins Distributing B50 Industrial Biosolar from South Kalimantan Terminal

PT Elnusa Petrofin has commenced the distribution of B50 industrial biosolar from its Fuel Terminal at Indonesia Bulk Terminal (IBT) Pulau Laut in South Kalimantan. This inaugural distribution signifies the company's commitment to the government's mandatory B50 policy for the industrial sector, as outlined in the Ministerial Decree on the mandatory blending of 50 percent biodiesel into solar fuel.

As a subsidiary of PT Elnusa Tbk, Elnusa Petrofin manages terminal operations, blending processes, and the distribution of the B50 biosolar to industrial clients. The first receipt of B50-spec Fatty Acid Methyl Ester (FAME) occurred on July 1, 2026, followed by the initial distribution to VHS Patra Logistik on July 2, 2026.

The B50 mandatory program is a strategic step in strengthening national energy resilience while increasing the utilization of energy from domestic resources. Director Utama of PT Elnusa Petrofin, Doni Indrawan, stated that this milestone supports the government's efforts to bolster national energy resilience and enhance the use of domestic energy resources. He highlighted the program's strategic importance in increasing biofuel utilization and reducing reliance on fossil fuel imports. Indrawan also emphasized the company's readiness in terms of infrastructure and operational capabilities to support the energy transition and decarbonization agenda.

Elnusa Petrofin's Fuel Terminal at IBT Pulau Laut is equipped with Automatic Inline Blending (ILB) facilities. This technology allows for automated mixing of biodiesel directly within the pipeline, with a blending capacity ranging from 250 to 1,000 kiloliters per hour. This ensures precise blending and adherence to quality standards before the product reaches industrial customers, especially within the mining sector, which plays a crucial role in the national economy.
