ELS Group to participate in Busan edge AI data center project

AI infrastructure company ELS Group announced its participation in a project to build an edge AI data center in Busan, South Korea. The initiative, titled the 'Busan Shipbuilding and Marine Edge AI Data Center Construction Project,' was selected for the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy's '2026 Industrial Complex Edge AIDC Demonstration Pilot Project.'

This project represents a significant step as it will be the first edge AI data center constructed within an industrial complex in South Korea. The facility will leverage both Graphics Processing Units (GPUs) and domestically developed Neural Processing Units (NPUs) to create an advanced AI data processing environment.

The collaboration aims to enhance the capabilities of the industrial complex by integrating cutting-edge AI technology. By establishing an edge data center, the project intends to enable faster and more efficient data processing for various applications within the shipbuilding and marine sectors, potentially leading to innovations and improved operational efficiencies.
