Emergency responders contain gas tanker leak in Kaduna

Emergency services in Kaduna State, Nigeria, have successfully contained a leak from a compressed gas tanker in the Kaduna South area. The Kaduna State Emergency Management Agency (KADSEMA) confirmed the incident, stating that responders acted swiftly after receiving a distress call on Sunday.

Usman Mazadu, the Executive Secretary of KADSEMA, reported that the agency collaborated with the Kaduna State Fire and Public Safety Agency to manage the situation. Emergency responders secured the scene and initiated cooling operations to stabilize the tanker and prevent any potential escalation of the leak.

No casualty or injury was recorded, and the tanker driver escaped unharmed.

Fortunately, no casualties or injuries were reported as a result of the incident. The tanker driver also escaped unharmed. Mazadu advised motorists and pedestrians to steer clear of the Nnamdi Azikiwe By-Pass near Unguwan Mu’azu until emergency officials give the all-clear.

To facilitate the ongoing emergency operations and ensure the safety of road users, traffic has been diverted to alternative routes. Mazadu commended the cooperation of local residents and urged continued compliance with the directives issued by emergency personnel.
