Employee stabs employer over salary dispute in Delhi

A dispute over unpaid wages turned violent in northwest Delhi, leaving a restaurant owner in critical condition. Somnath, 45, was severely injured after being stabbed multiple times by his employee, Vikas, during a heated argument on Monday.

The incident occurred at Somnath's eatery in Dhaka Village. According to police, Vikas, who had been working at the restaurant for nearly two months, demanded his salary on Monday. Somnath claimed he had already paid Vikas, but the employee insisted otherwise, leading to a confrontation.

During the altercation, Vikas allegedly grabbed a kitchen knife and attacked Somnath, inflicting stab wounds to his face and chest. Vikas fled the scene immediately after the assault. Police have registered a case under sections 118 and 126 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, which deal with intentionally causing hurt or grievous hurt using dangerous weapons and wrongful confinement.

Authorities are continuing their investigation into the matter. The motive appears to stem from a disagreement regarding salary payments, highlighting potential labor disputes escalating into violence.
