Enner Valencia misses late chances in Boca Juniors' draw with Racing

Ecuadorian forward Enner Valencia saw action for Boca Juniors on Sunday, August 23, 2026, entering the match in the 77th minute of their 1-1 draw against Racing Club. The game, part of the sixth round of the Argentine Torneo Clausura, was played at Racing's Estadio Presidente Perón, known as the Cilindro de Avellaneda.

Racing took an early lead with a penalty converted by Marcos Rojo in the ninth minute after an infraction by Ayrton Costa. Boca Juniors equalized in the 28th minute through Miguel Merentiel. This was Valencia's second official appearance for Boca Juniors since joining as a free agent on a contract until December 2027. His debut occurred on August 18 against Deportivo Recoleta in the Copa Sudamericana, where Boca won 4-0. Although he did not score in that match, he had a clear opportunity, and coach Rodolfo Arruabarrena noted Valencia was still working towards peak physical condition.
