Huracán Honors Goalkeeper Hernán Galíndez for 100 Appearances

Argentine club Huracán celebrated Ecuadorian goalkeeper Hernán Galíndez on Saturday for reaching his 100th appearance with the team. Galíndez, who has become a vital figure and captain for Huracán, was honored alongside his family before the scoreless draw against Deportivo Riestra.

The 39-year-old goalkeeper was presented with a special jersey bearing the number 100. Since joining Huracán in 2024, Galíndez has established himself as a team leader. In his century of matches, he has conceded 76 goals and kept 48 clean sheets, earning the affection of the club's supporters.

Galíndez's contract with Huracán extends until December 2027, following a renewal that underscored his importance to the squad. His performance in goal during the recent match against Deportivo Riestra was crucial, as he made two significant saves to preserve the 0-0 draw and maintain another clean sheet.

This milestone comes after a notable career that includes extensive time in Ecuador. Galíndez played for Universidad Católica for nine years before moving to Universidad de Chile and then returning to Ecuador to play for Aucas, where he won a national championship in 2022. He also had a significant international career, representing Ecuador in the 2022 World Cup and two Copa América tournaments before retiring from the national team in 2026.
