Enugu East endorses Tinubu, Mbah for 2027 elections, donates N300m

Leaders and members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Enugu East Senatorial Zone have officially declared their support for the re-election of President Bola Tinubu and Governor Peter Mbah in the 2027 general elections. This significant endorsement took place during a solidarity rally, tagged “Ofu Obi Rally for Tinubu and Mbah,” held at Okpara Square in Enugu.

We have no other governorship candidate in Nkanu land and Enugu State other than Peter Mbah. He must complete another four years in office.

The zone, which comprises six local government areas, not only voiced their backing but also pledged a substantial N300 million to bolster Governor Mbah's campaign for a second term. The motion to adopt President Tinubu for a second term was put forth by Senator Kelvin Chukwu, while Mr. Nnolim Nnaji, a federal lawmaker, seconded it. Governor Mbah's endorsement for a second term was similarly moved by Mr. Iloabuchi Aniagu, a member of the Enugu State House of Assembly, and seconded by Mr. Anthony Mbah.

During the rally, former Senate President Ken Nnamani lauded Governor Mbah as a visionary leader capable of effective implementation. He highlighted the importance of transformative leadership and investment in education, drawing parallels with China's development. Nnamani specifically commended Mbah's Smart Green Schools initiative, urging constituents to rally behind the governor's developmental plans. Former Governor of old Anambra State, Senator Jim Nwobodo, also expressed strong support, stating that Mbah deserved another term to solidify his administration's achievements.

Enugu State's Secretary to the Government, Prof. Chidiebere Onyia, affirmed the unwavering support from the State Executive Council and political appointees. He emphasized that the rally represented only a portion of the widespread support Mbah commands across the state, expressing confidence in Enugu's future under his leadership. On behalf of the zone's House of Representatives members, Mr. Nnaji stated that the endorsement was a testament to Mbah's performance and good governance, not merely a regional affiliation.
