Enugu North By-election: Igbo-Eze South chairman congratulates Asogwa, commends Mbah for APC’s victory

Ikeje Asogwa has been declared the senator-elect for Enugu North Senatorial District following a decisive victory in the recent by-election. Representing the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asogwa garnered an impressive 162,360 votes, significantly defeating his closest competitor, Nestor Ezeme of the Peoples Democratic Party, who received 9,299 votes. The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) announced the results, confirming Asogwa's win.

The by-election was necessitated by the passing of the former senator for the district, Okey Ezea. Ugo Ferdinand Ukwueze, the Chairman of Igbo-Eze South Local Government Area, congratulated Asogwa, describing his victory as a clear reflection of the trust and support he commands across the district. Ukwueze noted that Asogwa's success demonstrates the confidence in his capacity and commitment to public service.

Governor Peter Mbah of Enugu State was also commended by Ukwueze for his "remarkable demonstration of equity, fairness, and inclusive leadership." The chairman highlighted that Governor Mbah's support for Asogwa, who hails from Igbo-Eze South, to complete the late senator's tenure underscores the administration's dedication to justice and balanced representation.
