Enugu State begins revalidation and digitization of survey records

Enugu State is embarking on a comprehensive digital transformation of its land administration system with the commencement of a continuous survey revalidation and digitization exercise. This program aims to establish a fully digital, transparent, and verifiable framework for managing land records.

The exercise is designed to safeguard property rights, eliminate disputes stemming from lost or defective records, and bolster public trust in land administration. It is a key component of Governor Peter Mbah's digital transformation agenda for the state.

According to a statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Chidiebere Onyia, the process involves verifying, digitally capturing, and geographically mapping all land records. Landowners, estate developers, surveyors, and property owners are urged to participate by submitting their Survey Plans, Layout Approvals, and related documents.

To ensure accessibility and efficiency, the government has set up six revalidation centers throughout the state. These include the Office of the Surveyor General, Enugu State Housing Development Corporation Headquarters, and Enugu Geographic Information System Headquarters, among others. The government stressed that full participation is crucial for the exercise's success and the protection of genuine landowners' interests.
