Enzo Fernández bids Chelsea an emotional farewell

Enzo Fernández left Chelsea for Manchester City in a €145 million transfer, then turned to the supporters he was leaving behind with a deeply personal goodbye.

The 25-year-old Argentina midfielder acknowledged that his departure could provoke mixed feelings among Chelsea fans. He said the decision had been particularly difficult, but one he felt he had to make.

In his letter, Fernández recalled how Cobham and Stamford Bridge had become home for him and his family over three years. He wrote that he had become obsessed with winning and bringing Chelsea every trophy its history deserved. The time had included suffering, tears and anger, but also titles and unforgettable victories.

Fernández thanked the club’s staff, coaching and medical teams, physiotherapists and everyone working at Cobham and across the organization. He also expressed gratitude to his teammates for the moments they had shared and wished them the best in the future.
