Equestrian Abdelkebir Ouaddar wins King Mohammed VI Show Jumping Grand Prix

Moroccan equestrian Abdelkebir Ouaddar has clinched the prestigious King Mohammed VI Grand Prix for show jumping, adding another significant title to his decorated career. The victory came at the Dar Es Salam arena in Rabat during the "Week of the Horse" event, a major fixture in the Moroccan equestrian calendar.

Ouaddar, affectionately known as the "Rider of King Mohammed VI," competed aboard his horse CHACSARA. The competition was fierce, with notable challenges coming from emerging talent Azoum Mohammed, who secured the silver medal riding SIENNA AEG, and Bougaa El Gali, who took bronze with IKE 1348. The event culminated with the presentation of trophies and medals by Cherif Moulay Abdellah Alaoui, president of the Royal Moroccan Equestrian Federation (FRMSE).

The "Week of the Horse," held under the patronage of King Mohammed VI, attracted approximately 400 horse-rider combinations. These participants competed in 20 different championships across both show jumping and dressage disciplines. The event drew exceptional crowds, particularly during the six major evening sessions held under floodlights, highlighting the growing passion for equestrian sports in Morocco.

Beyond the senior categories, the event also featured competitions for younger riders, including the Prince Moulay Hassan Prize for those under 13. Bicha Faysal, riding D’ANGEL LA TUILERIE, emerged victorious in this category, representing the Casablanca Sports Union (Etrier de Casablanca). Zahrane Mehdi took silver, and Bensalah Farouk secured bronze. The federation emphasized its commitment to promoting equestrianism by keeping the Dar Es Salam arena open to the public free of charge throughout the championship, allowing families and fans to enjoy the competitions and entertainment areas.
