Erdoğan Signs Ambassador Appointments to 12 Countries Published in Official Gazette

Turkey has appointed new ambassadors to 12 countries in a presidential decision signed by Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and published in the Official Gazette.

Alp Işıklı was recalled from Burundi and replaced by Haydar Kerem Divanlıoğlu. Fatih Ulusoy was recalled from North Macedonia. Kaan Esener was appointed ambassador to the Philippines, while Ayşe Hilal Sayan Koytak, Turkey’s ambassador to Bahrain, was appointed to Finland.

Necati Sancaktutan was appointed to Bahrain, Hüseyin Ergani to Oman and Fikriye Aslı Güven to Namibia. Fatih Yıldız, previously ambassador to Sudan, was appointed to South Korea. Fahri Türker Oba, Turkey’s ambassador to The Gambia, was appointed to Sudan, while Alper Aktaş moved from Somalia to North Macedonia and Ferhat Alkan from Mozambique to Somalia.

Özgür Gökmen was appointed ambassador to The Gambia, and Ayça Oşafoğlu İnam to Mozambique.

The decision also set out changes within the Foreign Ministry. Volkan Işıkcı was appointed to oversee bilateral relations with West and Central Africa, while Sadık Babür Girgin took charge of humanitarian and technical assistance. Other appointments covered relations with Africa, Syria and the northeastern Mediterranean, as well as consular services, protocol, overseas promotion, personnel, public diplomacy, migration policy and visa procedures, and strategic planning.
