Eric Trump says retired Air Force One, not Qatar gift, to feature at father's Miami library

An retired Air Force One aircraft will be the centerpiece of Donald Trump's presidential library in Miami, according to his son Eric Trump. Contrary to earlier statements by the former president, the plane will not be the Boeing 747-8 gifted by Qatar.

Eric Trump clarified that two Air Force One planes are being retired, and the 2900 model will be housed at the library's base. He noted that modifications, potentially including removing the wings, might be necessary to fit the aircraft into the planned pavilion. "I'm sure we'll have to take the wings off to be able to squeeze it in there, but we'll get it done. It'll be fun," he told NBC News.

Now they are retiring two Air Force planes, the 2900 and the 29100z. The 2900 will be at the base of that building.

This announcement diverges from Donald Trump's previous assertions that the luxurious Boeing 747-8, a gift from Qatar, would be transferred to the presidential library foundation. The former president had repeatedly stated this plane would be the museum's main attraction after his term. The Boeing 707 served as Air Force One and is comparable to the aircraft displayed at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in California.
