Erlin Bus Transfer Station Nears Opening After Successful Bid by Yuanlin Bus

Residents of Erlin, Changhua County, have long awaited the completion of their new bus transfer station, a project designed to significantly improve public transportation in an area often referred to as a "double-rail orphan" due to its lack of train service. The station's hardware construction is now complete, and the operational contract has been awarded to Yuanlin Bus.

The project, funded by the Changhua County Government with an investment of NT$46.49 million, is situated on a 506-ping site previously occupied by a Taiwan Sugar bus station. The facility features a two-story building with a waiting area, ticketing counters, and commercial spaces on the first floor, and a planned retail area on the second. Outdoor platforms will accommodate five large buses, including charging facilities for electric buses, anticipating the future of public transit.

Once operational, the Erlin Transfer Station is expected to become a vital hub, integrating three city bus routes, nine highway bus routes, and one national highway route. This consolidation aims to enhance the connectivity of public transportation in the southwestern part of Changhua County, providing services to destinations such as Taipei, Taichung, and Xitou.

Currently, Yuanlin Bus is undertaking interior renovations and route consolidation. The county government anticipates the station will officially commence operations in the latter half of 2026. This development is poised to resolve existing issues of outdated bus stops, narrow roads, and difficult access for buses, thereby transforming the local transportation landscape.
