Ernestina Pais, Argentine TV host, dies at 54 in tragic train accident

Argentine journalist and television host Ernestina Pais died tragically at the age of 54 in a railway accident in San Isidro. The devastating collision occurred when Pais drove her black Honda City across a railway crossing with the barrier down, directly into the path of a Tren de la Costa train.

Impactful images from the scene show the sheer force of the crash. The driver's side of Pais's car was completely crushed, with twisted metal and shattered glass. The vehicle's left side bore the brunt of the impact, indicating the violence of the collision that tragically killed Pais, who was the only person in the car.
