Ernesto Rivera achieves solid victory at the Belgian Grand Prix in Formula 3

Ernesto Rivera achieved a commanding victory in the Feature Race at the Belgian Grand Prix, held at the iconic Spa-Francorchamps circuit. The young Mexican driver, representing Campos Racing and a member of the Red Bull Junior Team, delivered a stellar performance to put Mexico on the map in the Formula 3 category.

Rivera began the race from fourth position after a strong qualifying session. He demonstrated patience in the early stages, observing the intense action at the front of the grid. Pole-sitter Freddie Slater lost his lead shortly after the start due to a poor getaway, allowing Hiyu Yamakoshi and Tuuka Taponen to battle for the top spot throughout the race.

While the fight for the podium intensified, Rivera executed a calculated strategy. He moved past Taponen and gradually increased his pace, closing the gap to the leaders. His determined pursuit continued as he overtook Yamakoshi, positioning himself behind Slater, who had regained the lead.

With each lap, Rivera's pace quickened. In a decisive move with just four laps remaining, he passed Slater. Rivera then extended his advantage, pulling away from the DRS zone to secure a remarkable victory. This win marks Rivera's second triumph in the Formula 3 category, including a sprint race victory, and establishes him as the first Mexican driver to win a race in this series, which serves as a crucial stepping stone to Formula 1.
