Esenyurt Election Poll: YENİ Parti Leads, AKP Second

A July 2026 election survey for Esenyurt, Istanbul's most populous district, reveals a significant shift in the political landscape. YENİ Parti emerged as the leading party with 32.9% of voter support, according to data shared by Data Analyst Murat Kızılboğa.

The ruling AKP secured the second position with 27.8% of the vote. DEM Parti followed, capturing 20.5% of the electorate. Other prominent parties, including CHP, MHP, Zafer Partisi, and İYİ Parti, received lower percentages, with CHP polling at 2.8%, MHP at 4.2%, Zafer Partisi at 3.8%, and İYİ Parti at 3.2%.

The research also projected the distribution of parliamentary seats for Istanbul's 3rd electoral district, which includes Esenyurt. Based on the poll, YENİ Parti is expected to win 16 seats, while the AKP would secure 13. DEM Parti is projected to get 3 seats, with Yeniden Refah Partisi (YRP), MHP, İYİ Parti, and Zafer Partisi each obtaining one seat.

Separately, the district has been under trustee administration since October 31, 2024. The current trustee is Can Aksoy, the Deputy Governor of Istanbul. The mayor elected in the March 31, 2024 local elections, Ahmet Özer, who won with 49% of the vote, was arrested as part of an investigation into "urban consensus" and "Aziz İhsan Aktaş." He was later released on bail in two separate cases.
