ESO to Invest 40 Million Euros in Klaipėda Region Electricity Grid Development

The Klaipėda region in Lithuania is set to receive a significant infrastructure upgrade as Energijos skirstymo operatorius (ESO) earmarks 40 million euros for electricity grid development this year. The investment targets the modernization and expansion of the local power network, aiming to enhance its reliability and capacity.

ESO's ambitious plan includes the installation of more than 280 kilometers of new underground cable lines. This substantial length of cabling is expected to replace aging infrastructure and extend the reach of the electricity network. Alongside the cable installations, the project will involve the construction of 125 new transformer substations and the renovation of existing ones. These substations are critical components for managing and distributing electricity efficiently.

The initiative underscores a commitment to improving essential services in the Klaipėda district, a key economic area in Lithuania.
