ESone Enhances School Safety with AI Solutions for Evening and Weekend Gymnasium Use

ESone is rolling out artificial intelligence-powered safety solutions to manage school gymnasiums, addressing the growing need for security and operational efficiency as these facilities extend their opening hours into evenings and weekends. The company announced on August 25 that it is currently conducting pilot operations of its AI-based safety solutions at three schools in the Gunpo-Uiwang Education Support Office in Gyeonggi Province.

The deployed solutions encompass a comprehensive approach to facility management and user safety. The 'Unmanned Gymnasium Management System' automates access control, lighting, and HVAC systems based on registered schedules, and alerts users to close facilities before locking up. It also links to an emergency dispatch service if unauthorized entry is detected after closing hours. This system allows schools, like one middle school in Uiwang City, to open their gymnasiums to the community on weekends without dedicated on-site personnel.

Furthermore, the 'Intelligent School Safety Package' utilizes AI to analyze CCTV footage, detecting seven types of situations in real-time, including fire hazards, unauthorized access, and school violence, sending alerts directly to the responsible staff's mobile phones. Complementing this is 'Blue Scan,' an IoT solution that simultaneously transmits abnormal signals from water pipes, electrical systems, and fire alarm panels to both school administrators and ESone's control center. ESone is also providing separate water leak response consulting to 60 schools in the Incheon area.

ESone anticipates increased demand from schools for facility operation and safety management as the use of school gymnasiums expands during evenings and weekends to meet growing demand for community sports activities. This aligns with the Ministry of Education's goal to establish 200 school-integrated complex facilities by 2027, highlighting a broader trend towards maximizing the utility of educational infrastructure.
