Eswatini Prime Minister visits Taiwan, calls it 'steadfast development partner'

Eswatini's Prime Minister, H.E. Russell Dlamini, arrived in Taiwan leading a delegation, highlighting the enduring partnership and shared values between the two nations. Dlamini's visit, his second since assuming office, aims to further solidify the strategic relationship and explore avenues for enhanced cooperation.

Upon arrival at Taoyuan Airport, Dlamini stated that Taiwan has consistently been Eswatini's "most steadfast development partner." He expressed eagerness to deepen bilateral strategic ties and foster new opportunities for collaboration. The Prime Minister conveyed greetings from King Mswati III to Taiwan's President Lai Ching-te and the people of Taiwan, emphasizing Eswatini's commitment to attending the "2026 Indo-Pacific Security Dialogue" to share perspectives on regional and global issues.

Dlamini underscored the strong foundation of mutual respect and shared values that underpin the long-standing friendship between Eswatini and Taiwan. He noted the fruitful cooperation achieved over the years in various sectors, including healthcare, agriculture, education, technology, infrastructure, and private sector development, expressing gratitude for Taiwan's sustained assistance.

The delegation includes several key cabinet members, such as the Minister of Natural Resources and Energy, Prince Lonkhokhela, the Minister of Economic Planning and Development, Thambo Gina, and the Minister of Labour and Social Security, Phila Buthelezi. They are expected to engage in in-depth discussions with Taiwanese leaders to explore new opportunities for expanding bilateral trade and investment, strengthening technological and innovation cooperation, advancing medical and agricultural development, and promoting technology transfer for sustainable and inclusive economic growth.
