Euroherc Co-Founder Drago Galić Dies at 73

Drago Galić, a key figure in the establishment of Euroherc and a respected leader in the insurance industry, has passed away at the age of 73. Born in Ljubotići in 1954, Galić lived in Široki Brijeg and was a shareholder and co-founder of the prominent insurance company.

After retiring, Galić served on the Supervisory Board of Euroherc for Bosnia and Herzegovina. Dubravko Grgić, the majority owner of Euroherc and Koncern Agram, highly valued Galić not only as a shareholder and employee but also as a person. Galić brought extensive insurance expertise to Euroherc from its inception, demonstrating a strong entrepreneurial spirit, persistence, and discipline throughout his career.

Colleagues and business partners affectionately called him "Pobro," a term signifying a bond deeper than friendship. He was known for his cheerful, sociable, and gentlemanly demeanor. Galić was a consummate professional in his work and a devoted family man. His passing is an irreplaceable loss for his wife Miljenka, sons Stipe and Ivo, daughter Nina, ten grandchildren, and a wide circle of family and friends.

His passing has deeply saddened many, including his cousin Miljenko Mićo Crnjac, Ivan Čulina, Toni Ćavar, and Frano Vukoja, a columnist for Večernji list and a close relative. Galić took pride in his family, and they in him. He was also proud of his nephew fra Valentino Vukoja and his sister Bogdana Vukoja, a Sister of Charity. Galić cherished his hometown of Ljubotići and his home in Široki Brijeg, often visiting relatives. He also enjoyed spending time at his weekend house in Blidinje.

Jozo Pavković, executive editor of Večernji list in Zagreb, succinctly described Galić as "too great a man!" He was indeed a man of great stature and character, possessing a kind heart and a gentle soul. His life's journey has now transitioned to a higher plane.
