European Aquatics: Pellacani Returns to Italy with Diving Team After Gold Medal Haul

Italian diver Chiara Pellacani arrived at Fiumicino International Airport, returning home with five gold medals from the European Aquatics Championships in Paris. Pellacani, who also won the 3-meter synchronized event with partner Elisa Pizzini, described her feelings as "immense emotion" that she was still processing.

Joining Pellacani on her return were teammates including Stefano Belotti, Sara Jodoin di Maria, Raffaele Pelligra, Simone Conte, Matteo Santoro, Giovanni Tocci, and Lorenzo Marsaglia. Representatives from the Fiamme Gialle sports group, led by Lieutenant Colonel Gabriele Di Paolo, were present to welcome the athletes.

Pellacani dedicated her final medal to her supporters and her country, stating, "I love our country and I loved all the support and backing I felt in these competitions." She expressed hope that she had brought honor to Italy, emphasizing the personal significance of the achievement.

Reflecting on her success, Pellacani attributed her composure and performance to finding a balance between work, determination, and rest. "Over the years, I've understood how important it is for me to have periods where I completely disconnect mentally," she explained, highlighting this equilibrium as key to her sustained performance.
