European Championships: English and Adeleke eye medals in athletics finals

The European Athletics Championships in London and the European Swimming Championships in Paris are capturing attention, with Irish athletes poised for potential success in key finals.

Following two medals secured in the swimming pool the previous night, Irish hopes now turn to Danielle Hill and Mona McSharry in the swimming events, though their chances are described as outside ones. More significantly, Mark English and Rhasidat Adeleke enter their respective athletics finals as top qualifiers, with medal aspirations firmly in mind.

English is set to compete in the men's 800m final, while Adeleke will race in the women's 200m final. Both events are scheduled as late starts, occurring after 9 PM, but are highlighted as must-watch competitions.
