EVA Air to Launch New Route Connecting Taoyuan and New Delhi from December 1

EVA Air is set to expand its global network by launching a new direct flight route from Taoyuan, Taiwan, to New Delhi, India, commencing December 1.

This new service marks a significant milestone as it will be the sole direct flight connecting Taiwan and India operated by a Taiwanese airline. The expansion is strategically timed to support the global operations of major technology companies like Foxconn, MediaTek, and Delta Electronics, which have established a presence in India. EVA Air's General Manager, Sun Chia-ming, highlighted that the Delhi route will create an efficient business channel, deepen economic and industrial links, and serve as a crucial step in the airline's expansion into the South Asian market.

The direct flights are expected to significantly improve convenience for both business and leisure travelers, who currently face inconvenient transfers through hubs like Bangkok or Hong Kong. Passengers flying from India will be able to connect seamlessly through Taoyuan International Airport to 10 direct destinations in North America. This creates a substantial travel corridor linking India, Taiwan, and North America, catering to various needs including tech conferences, academic exchanges, study abroad, and family visits.

Furthermore, Indian travelers to the United States and Canada can benefit from conditional visa-free entry to Taiwan. EVA Air plans to offer "Taiwan half-day tour" packages to enrich travel itineraries and boost tourism in Taiwan. New Delhi, as India's economic, cultural, and transportation hub, is a vibrant metropolis of over 30 million people, blending historical significance with modern development. The route also opens up opportunities for tourists interested in India's famed "Golden Triangle" tourist circuit, encompassing Delhi, Agra (home to the Taj Mahal), and Jaipur.
