Evans and the Lions cruise past Lithuania’s runners-up

Utenos Juventus never found its footing in attack and fell 59-83 to London Lions in Kaunas, suffering a second loss in its preseason series.

The London team controlled the game from the opening minutes. Juventus trailed 11-20 after the first quarter and could not improve its position in the second, when the Lions extended their lead to 37-24.

Utenos showed more effort on defense after halftime and trimmed the deficit to 43-52 before the final quarter. The recovery did not last. The Lions, coached by Tautvydas Sabonis, produced a powerful offensive finish and pulled away again in the fourth quarter.

Juventus committed 20 turnovers and made only 30% of its shots. Keenanan Evans played 16 minutes for the winners and scored eight points, making one of six two-point attempts and two of three three-point attempts.
