Everton deepened Huachipato's crisis with a rout and climbed the League table

Everton intensified Huachipato's crisis by securing a decisive 1-4 victory on Saturday at the 'acereros' stadium in Talcahuano. The win propelled Everton up the Liga de Primera standings.

From the outset, Everton, known as 'El Ruletero,' dominated the match, consistently threatening Christian Bravo's goal. Julián Alfaro opened the scoring in the 21st minute with a rebound inside the box. The superiority of the Viña del Mar team continued as Uruguayan player Alan Medina extended the lead in the 34th minute and then converted a penalty six minutes later, completing his brace and firmly tilting the balance in Everton's favor.

Despite the deficit, Lionel Altamirano (45+2') managed to pull one back for Huachipato before halftime, offering a glimmer of hope. However, early in the second half, Everton sealed the victory with a spectacular long-range goal from Nicolás Montiel (51'). From that point, the team coached by Jaime García failed to mount a comeback, suffering a painful defeat.

This result sees Everton climb to fifth place with 26 points, entering international cup qualification spots. Conversely, Huachipato's winless streak in the league now stands at six consecutive matches, dropping them to eighth place with 24 units. Huachipato is scheduled to play Palestino away on August 17, while Everton will host Audax Italiano on August 15.
