Everton Rescue 2-2 Draw Against Manchester United

Ainsley Maitland-Niles scored a stunning long-range equaliser in the sixth minute of added time to give Everton a 2-2 draw against Manchester United.

United took the lead early in the second half when Kobbie Mainoo found Bryan Mbeumo on the right. The Cameroon international cut inside and curled a superb shot into the far corner. Everton had held firm before then, with goalkeeper Jordan Pickford and defender James Tarkowski helping keep United's counter-attacks at bay.

Everton levelled in the 83rd minute after United failed to clear the ball. Hayden Hackney set up Tyrique George, who fired into the top corner. United responded two minutes later, with substitute Benjamin Sesko heading in Luke Shaw's cross to restore the visitors' lead.

Everton refused to settle for defeat. Noussair Mazraoui's attempted clearance fell to debutant Maitland-Niles, who struck first time from distance and beat goalkeeper Senne Lammens to complete the comeback.

United had threatened early, with Mbeumo heading toward Bruno Fernandes after Shaw's cross, but Fernandes' volley hit the crossbar. Matheus Cunha also missed after connecting with Marcus Rashford's pullback, while Everton's Thierno Barry headed narrowly over before halftime. Everton remain unbeaten in the Premier League, sitting eighth with five points. Manchester United are 11th with four points.
